CaroTrans announces a strategic alliance with Thrutainers International in South Africa

CaroTrans, a leading global NVOCC (non-vessel operating common carrier) and ocean freight consolidator, today announces a significant partnership with market leader Thrutainers International, an established NVOCC in South Africa. This cooperation creates a solid, comprehensive US – Sub-Saharan Africa import/export LCL service network in this important trade lane. In 2016, Sub-Saharan Africa is forecasted to have a 3.5% GDP increase over 2015, the US a 2.3% increase in GDP (Economist Intelligence Unit).
Established in 1978, Thrutainers offers a national footprint within South Africa including CFS (container freight stations), multimodal inland services, and warehousing and distribution. Coverage at all major South African ports is offered including Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town, and Port Elizabeth, as well as reliable and expedited service to East and West Africa, and the Indian Ocean Islands via Thrutainers’ strategically located transshipment hub in Durban. CaroTrans serves US markets with its comprehensive network of local container freight stations and 13 offices nationwide.
The CaroTrans – Thrutainers import and export LCL service network is comprised of direct services between Atlanta, New York, and Chicago and Durban, Cape Town, Johannesburg and Port Elizabeth.
