PALLITE PIX wins the innovation award at the UKWA 2019 Awards

A paper-based shelving and storage system that is revolutionising the world of warehousing has won a national award for its innovative design.
PIX – a unique product designed by Northamptonshire-based transit packaging experts PALLITE – scooped the Innovation Award at the UK Warehousing Association’s annual lunch and awards ceremony at London’s Dorchester Hotel on Thursday (27 June).
The award recognises a “bold and innovative response to the challenging market” through the introduction of new technology, products or processes.
PALLITE fought off stiff competition from three other shortlisted finalists to win the accolade, which was presented in the presence of HRH The Princess Royal.
David Rose, PALLITE Innovations Director, said: “I am extremely proud of our team, who rose to the challenge we set them to design and manufacture a solution that would make a real impact for warehouse managers. I would also like to thank our customers, without whose support we wouldn’t be where we are today.”
Stephanie Munn, PALLITE Marketing Manager said: “A year ago, we never would have dared to dream that we would be winning such a prestigious award for the PALLITE PIX product range. It just goes to show what can be achieved when everyone comes together to work on a project they truly believe in and that makes a tangible change.”
PALLITE PIX is a range of lightweight, yet strong, storage and shelving systems made from 100% recyclable materials that are designed to consolidate pick-faces, freeing up under-used space in warehouses. The systems allow warehouse managers to increase their yield while remaining flexible to the demands of their supply chain.
By combining multiple pick-faces into one single pallet footprint, PALLITE PIX increases pick efficiency by reducing pick times and walk sequences. Removable dividers allow the storage solutions to be tailored to different or awkwardly-sized products, increasing protection for valuable or fragile items, while spaces for labels and barcodes reduce the risk of pick errors.
Suitable for use in all warehouses, the PALLITE PIX range is strong enough to hold up to 500kg per unit. Thanks to its lightweight composition and innovative ‘flat-pack’ design, it can also be built, moved and dismantled with ease without the need for any tools.
