Europa Road appoint new Branch Manager

Europa Road in Rotterdam has taken on a new Sales Branch Manager, Dennis Henderson, at a very exciting time of expansion for the new firm. With a strong knowledge of the local market, Dennis will help to drive the business forward following its successful launch in February this year.

Europa Road is part of ambitious independent operator Europa Worldwide Group which is based in the UK. Europa Road provides market leading European road freight services and the firm already has an established presence in Belgium with Europa Road BV. Europa has also launched in the Netherlands to give local firms flexible and frictionless logistics options for goods between NL and the UK.

Since its beginning, the team of five in Rotterdam has successfully grown its customer base, meeting demand for market-leading full, part loads and groupage services despite the challenging economy.

Carlo Turner, Non-Network & Continent Director said, “Our Rotterdam team has laid the foundations for a successful first year, providing the seamless movement of goods to the UK. The team is ahead of target and opening further recruitment opportunities in the region, under Dennis’ leadership.

“The Netherlands, like most other trading nations, has seen a slight drop in exports due to lower household consumption. As a result, the demand for raw material exports has decreased. As this is a significant proportion of our Dutch customer base, it has certainly created challenging market conditions.”

Dennis has been at Europa since August 2023 and has spent more than a decade in the logistics sector.  He comments, “I’m proud to have been given this pivotal role at Europa Road. The opportunity to lead the Rotterdam branch is both exciting and motivating, and I am committed to elevating our sales team to unparalleled heights.

“My journey in logistics spans over 10 years, mostly in air freight and sea freight but with significant experience in both operational and sales roles. I’ve taken the best from these experiences, integrating them into my toolkit. My vision for the Rotterdam branch is clear: I aim to lead by example, fostering a culture of excellence and growth.

“My overarching goal is to transform the Rotterdam branch into one of Europa’s most successful units, with a team of top-tier sales professionals.”

Dennis’ appointment follows the launch of Europa’s unique DDP service Europa Flow into the Benelux region in July 2023. The service, now available in the Netherlands, uses DDP incoterms to take care of customs declarations and duty requirements prior to delivery, easing complex administration and improving transit times.

Europa Road has expanded from being one of the first to establish express services into mainland Europe, to being a leader in groupage, part-load and full-load transport between the UK and EU.

The Rotterdam team, along with the company’s Belgian operation in Oostende has over 400 trailers on Benelux-UK business, performing more than 22,000 crossings of the channel per year.

Jack Baxter, Regional Sales Manager for Benelux, said, “Despite a global downturn in trade, the Netherlands continues to be an area of promise as its economy continues to grow. We are proud of what the team has achieved in a short period of time and are looking forward to another year of prosperity with Dennis on board.”

Europa Worldwide Group has three divisions – Road, Air & Sea, and Warehouse – and an ever-expanding global footprint. Over the past year the Group has expanded into the Middle East and Asia, with new sites being established in Shanghai, Dubai, Delhi and Shenzhen.
