GEFCO launches global Mission Control Centre for time critical Freight Forwarding solutions

GEFCO, a global provider of complex industrial supply chain services and European leader in finished vehicle logistics, has announced the launch of its dedicated Mission Control Centre (MCC) in Amsterdam to manage global Time Critical Solutions (TCS) within the Freight Forwarding business line.
The Centre has been designed to provide 24/7 best-in-class services to GEFCO’s customers worldwide, supporting its dedicated TCS network teams, alongside nominated partner agents across the globe.
GEFCO’s established Freight Forwarding division manages a global network of time critical operators and works with customers at a localised level to provide both planned and unplanned emergency shipments. GEFCO’s continued culture of ‘Infinite proximity’ – creating partnerships with their customers and providing integrated solutions – are the drivers for the MCC time critical solutions to truly add value to their customers’ business.
GEFCO’s TCS services are designed to provide immediate responses to customers’ urgent delivery requirements, offering comprehensive, worldwide, time critical, air freight solutions with full visibility throughout the mission.
The MCC will monitor all TCS freight forwarding solutions booked globally via their innovative, global IT system, to ensure the network continues to meet high performance KPIs for customers and will support the GEFCO TCS local operation teams with greater insight on global shipments to ensure an even more proactive and faster service that continues to provide value to the customer business.
The MCC will also act as a single point of contact for global customers to provide real-time monitoring updates on their worldwide emergency shipments, due to the combination of GEFCO’s global coverage, and local on-the-ground expertise for customers
As a leader in automotive logistics, the MCC positively impacts the range of solutions GEFCO already provide for the sector. The management of time critical solutions from the MCC is already providing value driven success to GEFCO’s automotive customer portfolio, with recent examples including the organisation of a charter flight, obtaining all necessary permits and delivering Time Critical Cargo door to door from Czech Republic to US within 48 hours of the customer request, saving the client extensive costs from a potential manufacturing standstill.
Commenting on the launch, Klaas Sybrandy, Global TCS Director at GEFCO Freight Forwarding said, “This is a momentous occasion for our rapidly growing Freight Forwarding operation. The Mission Control Centre significantly enhances our credentials in the time critical solutions arena. With all time critical shipments being monitored closely by our excellent and experienced MCC team, we will ensure that we always find the fastest possible solution for all planned and unplanned emergency shipments for our customers.”
Vincent Karbet and Chantal van Loen, who both bring extensive TCS experience to the operation, will lead the MCC team. Vincent has worked in the international freight forwarding industry for over 15 years, including executive roles with DHL Same Day, while Chantal was responsible for TNT special services in The Netherlands for over 10 years.
GEFCO’s launch of the MCC follows the recent unveiling of its innovative voice-activated track and trace solution for TCS, ‘TRACY’, developed for Freight Forwarding customers requiring next generation real-time monitoring of high-priority shipments where speed and efficiency is of the upmost importance.
