GEODIS has announced the acquisition of 110 electric trucks for its European road transport operations. Renault Trucks and Volvo Trucks will deliver the 44 ton heavy duty trucks by May 2027. GEODIS will deploy the new vehicles across transport operations in France, covering both urban deliveries and long distance transport. The GEODIS European Road Network activity electric truck fleet will reach 190 vehicles.
Enhancing electric fleet
To support the operation of this fleet and optimize territorial coverage, GEODIS is developing electric corridors along the main French routes, enabling charging every 250 to 500 kilometers. GEODIS relies on its current network of around sixty charging points, which will increase to more than 200 by 2030.
“The arrival of these new electric vehicles is part of a global decarbonization strategy and meets the expectations of our clients. It is a major investment for GEODIS, both in terms of fleet and infrastructure. It marks our clear choice in favour of electrifying our fleet and integrating into our CO2 emission reduction trajectory validated by the Science Based Target initiative,” says Marc Vollet, Managing Director of the European Road Network at GEODIS.
True to its mission, GEODIS supports its clients by offering innovative solutions aimed at reducing GHG emissions related to transport. Thereby, they actively contribute to the decarbonization of the sector.
