SmartLynx Airlines, a rapidly expanding carrier, has announced the appointment of Edvinas Demenius as its new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Zygimantas Surintas. Demenius brings over seven years of experience as a board member and Chief Commercial Officer at SmartLynx Airlines.

Jonas Janukenas, CEO of Avia Solutions Group, expressed confidence in SmartLynx’s future under Demenius’ leadership, highlighting a renewed focus on efficiency, development, and growth. Janukenas praised Demenius for his leadership during challenging times in the aviation industry and affirmed his belief in Demenius’ ability to guide the company towards excellence and strategic success.

SmartLynx Airlines, known for its passenger and cargo ACMI services, has been actively expanding its fleet of A321 freighters, with 10 currently in operation and more planned for the future. Demenius emphasised the company’s significant growth trajectory and its leading position in the global ACMI industry. He expressed confidence in the team’s capabilities and outlined plans to enhance operational performance, drive growth, and expand counter-seasonal operations.

Last year, SmartLynx Airlines increased its fleet from 49 to 67 aircraft, with ambitious plans to reach 100 aircraft by 2026, signaling its commitment to sustained expansion and market leadership.
