The Archies attracts record levels of support

Organisers of the inaugural UKMHA Awards – the Archies – have been overwhelmed by support from across the industry, with a record number of companies signing up as sponsors.

Tim Waples, Chief Executive of UKMHA said “The previous FLTA Awards for Excellence was widely recognised as the premier event in the materials handling calendar. This prestigious reputation will continue when we, as UKMHA, launch the Archies at a glittering ceremony later this year.

“After three years without a face-to-face event we were confident that we would receive a positive response for sponsorship, and when we announced we were looking for sponsors, the entire sector responded magnificently. Companies of all sizes have signed up, and with their help we intend to deliver the best awards event ever.

“That will mean retaining those things that make it such a huge and enduring success whilst introducing some exciting new elements. One of the more visible changes is the re-brand that acknowledges the affection with which the statuette of Archimedes is held. As a result, the event will now be known as ‘the Archies’.

“Having put Archie centre stage we have also refreshed the graphic to make it simpler and stronger. One of the places it will be highly visible is in a new integrated logo that has been created for the sponsors. By combining the sponsor’s own logo with the name of the category they are supporting we are ensuring the strongest possible link between the category and the sponsor’s brand values.

“For those organisations still wishing to get involved, there are a small number of openings for sponsors to suit every budget and ambition.”
