Sony Network Communications Europe will expand its business dedicated to logistics technology through a collaboration with Ocean Network Express (“ONE”). The collaboration centres around the development of a new smart container solution intended to be implemented across ONE’s global container fleet – the sixth largest container shipping line in the world.
Currently, Sony Network Communications Europe is active in the logistics technology space through the Visilion cargo and asset tracking solution. Like the cargo and asset tracking solution, the new smart container solution will benefit from Sony’s leading expertise in innovating with world-class sensing and connectivity technologies. The collaboration will combine Sony’s technological expertise with ONE’s extensive cargo shipping experience to break new ground in logistics technology.

The smart container solution will be designed to enable ONE to have greater visibility of their containers. A more detailed picture of their container fleet will help ONE remove guesswork, make better, faster decisions and orchestrate their fleet more efficiently and proactively.

With smart containers, ONE and other carriers can expand their service capabilities to include live updates throughout an entire shipment journey.
