Mobile crane service launched by Quality Freight

Quality Freight UK has launched a mobile crane service after investing £300,000 in a new Fuchs loading machine.
It means QF UK now operates two Fuchs cranes, an RHL340 tracked crane used in St Helens discharging trains for DB Cargo and a MHL360 wheeled crane based at its own Ellesmere Port terminal for train and vessel work.
Both cranes can be moved at short notice to locations across North West England. This has included loading bulk ships from the INEOS terminal in Runcorn.
A spokesman for DB Cargo said: “The adaptability provided by using the QF mobile crane service has allowed us to deliver business we would otherwise not have been able to service.”
The new mobile crane service forms part of the total logistics service provided by Quality Freight UK. The company has the ability to offer clients support across sea, road, rail and air.
Sebastian Gardiner, Managing Director of Quality Freight UK, said: “The addition of a second Fuchs crane gives us increased capability and flexibility. We believe many companies will be interested in using one of the cranes either as a standalone service or as part of a broader logistics solution. In the first instance we are looking to grow the mobile crane service in the North of England but, in due course, there is no reason why it cannot have a UK-wide reach.”
The investment in the second Fuchs crane is the latest development at QF UK. Last year, the company launched a new container service between Seaforth terminal, Liverpool, and Ellesmere Port in partnership with Peel Ports.
