WestJet Cargo has unveiled a new partnership with Flexport, a global player in supply chain technology. This collaboration aims to introduce innovative airfreight solutions for the transportation of Canadian exports to Asia.
In this distinctive agreement, WestJet Cargo will transport Canadian goods to O’Hare International Airport (ORD). At ORD, Flexport operates dedicated freighters that connect the U.S. to crucial air freight hubs in Asia, including Incheon International Airport (ICN), Shanghai Pudong International Airport (PVG), and Hong Kong International Airport (HKG). This arrangement significantly broadens the global reach for WestJet Cargo and its clientele.
The strategic alliance responds effectively to the escalating demand for Canadian products in key Asian markets, especially perishable items like seafood. WestJet Cargo and Flexport’s comprehensive solution addresses the specific requirements of customers in Halifax and the surrounding regions, marking a crucial response to current market needs.
