ONE Expands Southeast Asian Reach with Terminal Acquisition in Indonesia

Ocean Network Express (ONE) has announced the successful acquisition of a minority stake in New Priok Container Terminal One (NPCT1) in Jakarta, Indonesia. The deal marks a significant step in strengthening ONE’s presence in Southeast Asia’s dynamic supply chain network.

NPCT1, which began operations in 2016, plays a pivotal role in Southeast Asia’s gateway markets. With an annual capacity of 1.5 million TEU, the terminal is equipped to handle the latest mega containerships, thanks to its deep drafts and modern infrastructure.

This acquisition is crucial for ONE as Jakarta represents the company’s third-largest volume port in the region. The strategic move ensures continued access to vital terminal capacity and supports the company’s growth objectives. Hiroki Tsujii, Global Chief Officer of ONE’s Product & Network Division, commented, “NPCT1 is an efficient and environmentally friendly terminal in a rapidly developing region. Owning a stake in this facility secures our position in a key gateway and underpins our expansion plans.”

The acquisition follows ONE’s broader strategy of investment in key global terminals, including recent stakes in US West Coast and European ports. These strategic assets are set to enhance ONE’s service quality, offering customers faster and more reliable solutions across its growing network.
