Intralink Launches in India to Boost Global Expansion

International business development consultancy Intralink has expanded its global presence to India to help companies secure customers and partners in this rapidly-developing market, and to enable Indian businesses to grow overseas.

The company has also made two senior appointments to lead its India business: Adrian Mutton joins as Chair of Intralink India, and Jai Mallick as India Managing Director.

With Intralink now operating from New Delhi and Mumbai, this is the latest step in the company’s plans to enable even more companies around the world to expand in international markets. It follows the company’s acquisition of Orissa International in early April with its six offices across Southeast Asia.

The move builds on Intralink’s existing track record in India. In recent years, the consultancy has helped Indian companies including Sagacious IP, Valtrix Systems, e-con Systems and InCore Semiconductors to develop their international sales. It has also enabled US, European and East Asian companies including Sonatus, PMP Conseil, Fujitsu and Nitto Denko to grow their businesses in India.

India is high priority for Intralink – and for its clients – because it’s one of the most significant markets globally. Its population exceeds that of China, and it is the world’s fastest-developing major economy, with 6.2% growth forecast this year by the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

The country has a burgeoning middle class with money to spend, a growing number of world-beating companies, and is globally renowned in pharmaceuticals, IT, business outsourcing, automotive, FMCG, agriculture and financial services. It is on a robust economic trajectory underpinned by rapid urbanisation, a vibrant technology and innovation ecosystem and a stable, pro-growth government.

At the same time, it is a challenging market for companies to break into – with success, in many cases, necessitating a carefully planned strategy, a partnership approach and an experienced team on the ground.

As Chair of Intralink India, Adrian Mutton brings more than three decades’ experience of India’s commercial landscape to help drive Intralink’s ambitions in the market. He has supported hundreds of European and North American clients with their Indian expansion and helped economic development agencies to grow their exports to the country and attract Indian investors.

In 2008, Mutton founded Sannam S4 in New Delhi, an international business development company which has grown to employ more than 350 people. After selling the corporate market entry part of the business to TMF in 2024, he continues to lead Acumen, Sannam S4’s education focused business.

Adrian Mutton said: “I’m excited to lead Intralink’s expansion in India. With its exceptional global network and relentless focus on creating revenue opportunities for its clients, the company is perfectly positioned to become the trusted partner for Indian companies looking to grow internationally – and for global businesses eager to be part of India’s dynamic future.”

As Intralink India MD, Jai Mallick will steer the company’s India strategy, business development and the delivery of client projects.

He brings a track record of analysing market opportunities, developing growth and investment strategies and achieving international expansion. He most recently led strategy and business development initiatives across EMEA and APAC for clean energy investment firm Foresight Group, having worked in the Corporate & Investment Banking team at Barclays International before that.

Jai Mallick said: “I’m thrilled to be leading Intralink’s expansion into India at a time when the country is rapidly emerging as a global hub for innovation and growth. With a vibrant technology landscape, thriving manufacturing base, world-class talent and growing global influence, India offers immense opportunities for international collaboration.

“Intralink is uniquely positioned to support Indian companies with global expansion, help corporates tap into India’s innovation ecosystem, and enable governments to build trade and investment partnerships. I’m excited to work with the incredible Intralink team to deliver meaningful results for our clients.”

Intralink’s New Delhi and Mumbai presence adds to the company’s existing 25 locations – including Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, Singapore, Bangkok, London, Paris, Silicon Valley, Boston and Toronto.
