  • What does ‘logistics’ mean to you?

It’s about ensuring temperature-controlled products pass through the supply chain in their intended state.

  • What made you want to work in the industry?

I spent 15 years validating equipment and processes so when the opportunity arose to validate cold chain logistics activities, I moved pretty quickly.

  • What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?

I had a Covid supermarket moment. Remember the toilet roll rush? I glared at this woman (apparently) when she gleefully swiped the last 4 rolls off the shelf. Just as I was about to make a quip about sharing, she pulled her mask down; it was my partner and I hadn’t recognised her. Dog house.

  • What three traits define you?

Enthusiasm for life and work, having a sense of humour and having a compulsive attention to detail and order.

  • What’s the most important trend you see today?

Sustainability. Requests for eco-friendly shipping solutions and processes have shifted from nice-to-haves to imperatives.

  • How do you define success?

Committing to a life-work balance in healthy proportions and being resolute about sticking to it.

  • What’s the most interesting thing about you, which we wouldn’t learn from your CV?

I’m an amateur graphic designer. It was my first apprenticeship and there are aspects I still use now. That eye for detail is equally useful in process and presentations.

  • If you weren’t working at Softbox, what would you be doing?

I’m one of the lucky ones; I’d still be involved in temperature-controlled logistics in some creative or innovative capacity.

  • Where do you see yourself in five years?

Being an integral part of what is a growing Softbox family. I’m looking forward to sharing my knowledge of the market and perhaps becoming a go-to person in terms of innovating to help customers achieve their global goals.
