Thanks to a full conference programme boasting industry leading speakers and a sell-out exhibition, this year’s Multimodal has seen a 33% increase in visitor registrations. Taking place from 11th to 13th June at Birmingham’s NEC, Multimodal brings together businesses, thought leaders and associations from across the supply chain industry, where the most outstanding firms and individuals are also recognised at its annual Awards.

The ongoing popularity of Multimodal has also driven an increase of 17% in exhibitors. Organisers have seen a spike in attendance from shipping lines, technology providers and warehousing solutions providers. All aspects of the transport, logistics and supply chain industries are present – to help cargo owners find faster, more resilient, and sustainable ways to get their products to market cost-effectively.

Guy Opperman MP, Minister for Roads and Local Transport will share a review of the Future of Freight plan on the opening day, with Bill Esterson MP, the Shadow Transport (Roads) Minister also speaking in the Logistics Theatre. Multimodal 2024 has a total of four Theatres to offer visitors a packed programme which includes:

• Peak Season Preview 2024: Navigating UK Container Shipping Dynamics
• Artificial Intelligence Revolutionizing Multimodal Logistics: Paving the Way for Seamless Freight Mobility
• Net zero: Will we decarbonise the road freight sector in time?
• Mission Possible – Net Zero Shipping & Logistics
• Why Does the UK lead the world in eCommerce
• Revolutionising Transport Logistics: Exploring Alternative Fuel Paths
• Incentives for Modal Shift – How can we get more goods on rail?
• How to lead from the front on customs compliance amid changing UK-EU regulations

Amongst the 140 industry expert speakers are:

• Adam Jones, Sales & Marketing Director at Unipart
• Amy McNamara, Head of Operations at Boohoo
• Colin Synnott, Logistics Director at Kingfisher PLC
• Dionne Redpath, Group Chief Operating Officer at Europa Worldwide Group
• James Harles, CEO at Howard Tenens Logistics
• Tim Shoveller, CEO, G&W UK/Europe Region at Freightliner Group Ltd
• Stuart Innes, Airfreight Director at Kuehne+Nagel Ltd
• Mark Grimshaw-Smith, Head of Rail and Sea at CEMEX UK

On Thursday 13th June, Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal will be visiting the show in her capacity as Patron of Transaid, the international development charity founded by Save the Children, The Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT), and HRH The Princess Royal.

With only a few weeks to go until Multimodal 2024 opens its doors, Event Director Robert Jervis is encouraging visitors to make the most of the event, commenting: “Each year Multimodal increases in popularity, from the number of people registering to attend, to pre-booking of exhibition space and of course the three-day conference programme.

“Multimodal is unique in that it brings together the supply chain industry under one roof. As a result, we are seeing registrations from visitors who live outside of the UK who are investing their time to make the most of the event.

“There are plenty of networking opportunities and thanks to our broad conference programme, visitors can keep on top of what’s happening in the industry. I would encourage anyone thinking of visiting to book their free ticket now.”
