LTS Global Solutions is putting the needs of its people at the heart of its approach to employee wellbeing, recognising that while job security and competitive pay are important, so too are having quality time away from work and access to practical support in everyday life.
With staff retention notoriously challenging across the logistics industry, LTS is taking a people-led approach to attracting, retaining and rewarding its workforce. The company recognise that supporting employees both inside and outside the workplace is fundamental to building a successful and sustainable business.
Supporting employee wellbeing
The company is continually expanding the range of benefits available to its employees, with the package designed to support people’s physical, mental and financial wellbeing, give them greater flexibility and time away from work, and help them develop their skills and build long-term careers with LTS.
Every member of the LTS team can take advantage of a range of benefits upon passing their probationary period, from additional annual leave and financial rewards to health and wellbeing support, professional development opportunities and discounts on everyday spending.
Rewarding loyalty and commitment
The company as standard offers 33 days of leave every year, equating to 25 days of annual leave plus eight bank holidays. This is above the statutory entitlement which equates to 20 days plus the bank holidays.
Recognising the importance of rewarding long service, those who mark five-, 10- or 15-year anniversaries with LTS receive one extra day of annual leave as well as gifts of choice totalling £100, £250 or £500 respectively.
Employees are also encouraged to play an active role in shaping life at LTS, with those who come up with ideas to improve the workplace able to receive rewards of between £50 and £1,000.
Time away from work is another important part of the package. Employees receive a half-day off for their birthday and, at the company’s discretion, a further half-day for those who have taken no sickness leave or unauthorised absence in the three months leading up to their birthday.
From April next year, employees with at least 12 months’ service at LTS who would benefit from additional time away from work will also be able to buy extra annual leave.
LTS also recognises that wellbeing is about having practical support close at hand. Its on-site gym provides employees with a convenient space to stay active, whether they want to improve their fitness, relieve stress or simply take some time for themselves during the working day.
Financial support and career development
An employee referral scheme also rewards members of the team who help grow the business, with a £250 payment made when a referred new recruit successfully passes their probationary period.
Other benefits include a workplace pension scheme, a death-in-service benefit of £50,000 to help the nominated beneficiaries of employees who die while employed by LTS, lifestyle benefits such as cinema discounts and savings on everyday shopping, and an employee assistance programme providing 24/7 confidential support on a range of topics.
Employees also have access to a health plan to help with the cost of everyday healthcare, financial education and a range of training programmes designed to help them develop their skills and feel safe and confident in their roles.
Putting people at the heart of the business
The comprehensive package reflects LTS’s belief that supporting its people means looking beyond the workplace. From helping employees manage everyday healthcare and finances to giving them opportunities to develop, spend more time away from work and plan for the future, the company aims to provide benefits that have a meaningful impact on the lives of its people and their families.
Dave Hands, Managing Director of LTS Global Solutions, said, “The loyalty and commitment of our staff is critical to the ongoing success of our business and we feel it is important to reward every member of our team who on a daily basis contributes to taking the company to where we want it to be.
“We want LTS to be a place where people feel valued, supported and able to achieve their personal and professional goals. That means recognising the contribution made by our team but also understanding that people have lives outside work and need time, support and opportunities that benefit them both personally and professionally.
“Our aim is to provide benefits that genuinely make a difference to the everyday lives of our employees and their families. Whether that’s having additional time off, getting support with their health and finances, developing new skills or simply feeling recognised for the contribution they make to LTS.”
