At SPS 2026 from 24 to 26 November, NORD DRIVESYSTEMS will present its current portfolio, focusing on drive systems and digital services that enable users to benefit from the possibilities of a connected system architecture. This includes the demonstration of a practical model dedicated to digital twins. It will illustrate the relation between virtual commissioning and real-life drive optimisation. Offers such as the IIoT solution NORD DRIVE MONITOR and the NORD ECO service complement the system provider’s trade fair presentation.
At its trade fair stand in Hall 3A, 431, NORD will showcase its range of drive systems. The company offers tailored, high efficiency solutions that meet specific application requirements. These systems deliver long service life and reliable operation.
Keeping track with NORD DRIVE MONITOR
Visitors can also see the NORD DRIVE MONITOR in action as a valuable tool for predictive maintenance. The IIoT solution provides dynamically calculated and sensor-captured operating values of the electronic drive systems for further processing in condition monitoring (CM). This then enables predictive maintenance (PdM). With NORD DRIVE MONITOR, users can identify anomalies and wear at an early stage and plan maintenance activities before damage occurs or before the system comes to a standstill.
Functional safety
There are also new developments in the field of functional safety such as the recent, extensive safety upgrade of the product family of decentralised NORDAC ON frequency inverters. The new functions are particularly useful when used in automation environments. In addition to STO and SS1, the safe motion functions SLS, SMS or SSM are also integrated for fail-safe control of the rotary movement. NORDAC ON thus not only features safe standstill functions (Safe Torque Off and Safe Stop 1) but also enables safe control of a drive system’s speeds (Safety Limited Speed, Safe Maximum Speed and Safe Speed Monitor). Safe digital inputs and outputs enable direct connection of fail-safe peripheral components and features. This includes emergency stop buttons, safety door switches or photoelectric sensors.
NORD ECO for efficiency analysis during operation
At SPS, NORD will provide information on the NORD ECO service. It reveals the energy actually used and the energy not used by a drive system. Therefore, it determines the configuration with the lowest energy consumption. Based on the analysis data, NORD prepares a design proposal to improve the drive systems’ dimensioning and the performance and efficiency of the system.
Virtual commissioning and digital twin
For selected products, NORD offers the option to request a model file as a digital twin. Users can test individual components or entire systems in a virtual environment. Virtual commissioning helps identify potential errors and opportunities for optimisation before implementing the selected configuration. Visitors can see this process in action at NORD’s trade fair stand.
Other digital services that NORD’s team of experts will present at SPS 2026 include the myNORD customer portal. It allows registered users to discover NORD’s portfolio and find the right components and drive systems.
myNORD is continuously updated and expanded with new features.
